Distilleria Caselli was the first artisan enterprise to start selling the liqueur typical of the Modena area directly, namely "Nocino".. In fact, whereas most families living in Modena used to their own choice liqueur at home, at the beginning of the twentieth-century, Distilleria Caselli was already producing Nocino to be commercialised with a dose of 240 walnuts in 1918.
From that moment on, year after year, the quantities of Nocino produced rose considerably. What’s more, different types were produced, such as the by now inexistent Nocino Dry.
