Galdino Caselli, as a liqueur connoisseur, turned the already famous star anise Elixir liqueur into "Sassolino" at the beginning of the twentieth-century. At the time, a variety of anise liqueurs were produced, such as Anicione, Anice Sopraffino, Anisette and Mistrà..
